AerLabs wins €2.1M contract with Dutch Ministry to deliver Echo

Today, AerLabs is very proud to announce the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management selected AerLabs to deliver CAELUS on top of Echo. This make the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management the first national government to leverage the capabilities of the Echo Environmental Management platform.

The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management selected the Echo Environmental Management platform to manage noise impacts of Dutch regional airports. Having access to Echo, the ministry does not only get the capability to monitor noise impacts using ECAC Doc. 29. The platform will also be used to set and track environmental targets. The tool for the ministry will be called CAELUS and will be supported by AerLabs with a multiyear contract valued at 2.1 million Euros.

Sander Hartjes, Senior Policy Advisor at Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management: “The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management sets noise rules and limits around all civil airports in the Netherlands. These control noise, and thus noise nuisance, for inhabitants in the vicinity of airports. Establishing and enforcing these noise limits requires a software platform that can reliably determine the noise around airports based on actual flights (traffic). We selected Aerlabs to deliver the CAELUS tool based on Echo platform because Aerlabs has proven knowledge in the fields of environmental quality, aviation, and software engineering.”

Robert Koster, CEO of AerLabs: “Governments play a big role in environment management of aviation. The Dutch ministry has a track record of taking this seriously. We couldn’t have been prouder to supply our platform to them to help manage the environmental impacts of aviation.”
